Rothenburg

In medieval times, you were publicly humiliated if you did not update your blog for over a week.

Also though, Tambet would have had to wear a shame mask, with a sign around his neck stating that he neglected to bug me about updating it.

Some masks, they reserved only for people who really snorped something up.

For second offenses, you were strapped to this chair.

I went to Rothenburg this weekend. It's similar to Nürnberg in that it has its original city walls, however, unlike Nürnberg, it was not destroyed during WWII. It is therefore really old, supposedly most buildings in the city were built not long after 1350 something - which is about when the city was last destroyed. Some structures may be from closer to 1100 though, I think.

The photos above are from the Kriminell Museum in Rothenburg which documents the medieval justice system, with original executioners swords, all kinds of evil torture devices, shame masks, neck violins, iron maidens, etc. etc.

The city sits up on a hill and has some nice walking paths down below.
